| Summary |
- Provide outstanding, knowledgeable customer service in a pet salon environment, while assisting the Groomer with bathing and brushing of animals
|
| Responsibilities |
- Promptly greet and welcome salon customers
- Display appropriate body language at all times
- Preserve the PJ’s Pets customer service cycle
- Genuinely thank each and every customer
- Bathes, dries and brushes pets in accordance with breed standards or customer’s request
- Answers telephones calls, providing information and booking appointments
- Salon maintenance along with detailed record keeping
- Maintain an awareness of all corporate and in-store promotions and advertising
- Help Maintain a clean and well-organized salon
- Vacuum, sweep floors, clean cages, tubs and equipment and empty trash daily
- Maintain PJ’s Pets image by adhering to the dress guidelines
- Adhere to PJ’s Pets salon standards regarding health and safety

- Effective communication skills
- Ability to professionally assist in grooming pets to standard or customer’s request
- Proper grooming preparation of coat
- Proper techniques used to trim and file nails
- Proper techniques used to clean ears and anal glands
- Proper application of lotions and other skin treatment
- Ability to handle pet in a firm, calm, professional manner
- Proper handling/restraining techniques
- Ability to apply safety procedures throughout the grooming process
- Ability to apply sanitation procedures throughout the grooming process
- Proper procedures for cleaning and disinfecting work areas and equipment
- Ability to perform a variety of duties, changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure
- Ability to work under stress to meet schedule deadlines
- Ability to read, count, and write to accurately maintain all salon records
- Ability to sort, check, count and verify numbers
- Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job

| Environmental Conditions |
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, unpleasant odors and loud noises
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, such as, but not limited to animal bites or disease, which require following basic safety precautions
- Moderate physical activity, lifting up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking from more that 4 hours per day
- Ability to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
